Definitions

Unless the context otherwise requires, any word, term or expression used in these Terms of Use shall be construed according to its ordinary meaning. This shall be without prejudice to the following:

"Cookies" shall mean a bundle of data sent from a web server to a browser and stored on the hard drive of the computer from which the browser is being accessed;

"Organization" or "We" shall mean iappem.org

"Services" shall mean the provision of any services provided by the IAP-PEM.

"User"/ "Users" /"You" /"Members" shall mean anyone making use of the Services provided by the IAP-PEM and/or anyone accessing the Website of the Organization for whatever purpose;

Services

Organization disclaims all responsibility and liability for the availability, timelines, security or reliability of the Service. Organization also reserves the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the service with or without notice at any time and without any liability to you.

The Indian Academy of Pediatrics was established in 1963. It is the largest and most representative association of Pediatricians in India as compared with other organizations of medical specialties that are often fragmented and segmented. This indicates the unity that the association has been able to maintain among its members over the past 50 years.

Pediatric Emergency Medicine is a critical field of child healthcare that cannot be underestimated in today's modern era. While preventive pediatrics is essential to promote children's overall health, emergency care Pediatrics plays a crucial role in addressing the immediate medical needs of children. In fact, a vast majority of Pediatric visits are either for preventive care or emergency care, highlighting the importance of both aspects of Pediatric care.

Accounts & Payment

The Service is made available to you for your personal use only. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Service password and account, and are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. The Organization reserves the right to refuse or terminate service to anyone at any time without notice for any reason. You agree that you are responsible for your own communications and for any consequences thereof. Your use of the Service is subject to your acceptance of and compliance with the Agreement and any other polices or guidelines set forth by the Organization. You agree that you will use the Service in compliance with all applicable local, state, national, and international laws, rules and regulations, including any laws regarding the transmission of technical data exported from your country of residence. You shall not, shall not agree to, and shall not authorize or encourage any third party to:

Use the Service to upload, transmit or otherwise distribute any content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, obscene, contains viruses, or is otherwise objectionable as reasonably determined by the Organization.

Upload, transmit or otherwise distribute content that infringes upon another party's intellectual property rights or other proprietary, contractual or fiduciary rights or obligations, acts in any way that violates the Agreement, as may be revised from time to time. Violation of any of the foregoing may result in immediate termination of this Agreement, and may subject you to state and federal penalties and other legal consequences. Organization reserves the right, but shall have no obligation, to investigate your use of the Service in order to determine whether a violation of the Agreement has occurred or to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request.

Payment Terms

We as a merchant shall be under no liability whatsoever in respect of any loss or damage arising directly or indirectly out of the decline of authorization for any Transaction, on Account of the Cardholder having exceeded the preset limit mutually agreed by us with our acquiring bank from time to time.

Categories of Membership –

*Memberships & Eligibility

1) Life Member –Medical professional with recognised PG degree MD/DNB/DCH  in Pediatrics. The life member must be a member of Indian Academy of Pediatrics. 

2) Associate life member-  Medical  professionals; who are pursuing postgraduate degree MD/DNB/DCH or equivalent in Pediatrics/adult Emergency medicine/emergency trauma Surgeons from NMC recognised colleges or /nursing officers' paramedical staff 
They should be associate member of Central IAP at the time of application. 

3) Global Member – The Governing Body may admit individuals of distinguished talent and merit or whose association is deemed to be beneficial to the Society or who has rendered services of outstanding merit to the Society or who is a distinguished citizen of India or any other Country as Global member of the Society, after obtaining consent of the individual, with payment of admission fee. The ‘Global’ member shall be entitled to attend the meeting and contribute to the deliberations but shall have no right to vote. 

4) Permanent Member- Among Life members, on fulfilling the eligibility criteria will be invited by the executive board members for joining as Permanent members .

Eligibility - Amongst life members having valid/qualified "Degree" in Pediatrics Emergency Medicine (DM, DNB) / "recognized fellowship" in PEM (ACEE/STEP/IAP ) or "Running the PEM subspeciality course/fellowship as faculty" or working as faculty/specialist in a Pediatric Emergency Department /Division for at least 5 years 

Only Permanent members will be having voting rights and can participate in the electoral process. The Associate member of the society and global members does not have the voting rights, or participate in the electoral process and contest the elections. 

Membership Fee –

The Membership Fee Structure is as follows:

Refund/cancellation/termination Policy

Any refund will be not done once membership is approved.

Indemnification

You agree to hold harmless and indemnify the Organization, and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from and against any third party claim arising from or in any way related to your use of the Service, including any liability or expense arising from all claims, losses, damages (actual and consequential), suits, judgements, litigation costs and attorneys' fees, of every kind and nature. In such a case, Organization will provide you with written notice of such claim, suit or action.

Backups

We are not responsible for Content residing on the Website. In no event shall we be held liable for any loss of any Content.
